BoSox's Fister beats Indians on 1-hitter

CLEVELAND (AP) Three pitches into his start, Doug Fister had a one-hitter.

Nearly three hours later, nothing changed.

Fister gave up a leadoff homer in the first inning to Francisco Lindor and then nothing else, finishing with a career-best one-hitter, and Eduardo Nunez had five RBIs as the Boston Red Sox rolled to a 9-1 victory over the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday night.

Indians put Miller, Salazar back on DL

CLEVELAND (AP) The Indians have asked their next-door neighbors for some help in treating Andrew Miller's sore knee.

With the All-Star reliever back on the disabled list with tendinitis, the defending AL champions have reached out to the Cavaliers to see if there is something more they can do with a condition more common in NBA players.

Dodgers place Bellinger, Wood on DL

PITTSBURGH (AP) The Los Angeles Dodgers have put starting pitcher Alex Wood and rookie star Cody Bellinger on the 10-day disabled list.

The Dodgers made the moves before playing at Pittsburgh on Tuesday night and recalled right-handed pitchers Josh Ravin and Brock Stewart from Triple-A Oklahoma City. The Dodgers have the best record in the majors.

Pujols passes Sosa on HR list in win

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) Albert Pujols hit a three-run homer to become the major league career leader in home runs by a player born outside the United States, and the Los Angeles Angels beat the Texas Rangers 10-1 on Tuesday night.

Pujols hit his 19th homer of the season and the 610th of his career, snapping his tie with Sammy Sosa for eighth all-time.

Sanchez homers twice as Yanks rip Tigers

DETROIT (AP) Gary Sanchez hit the type of home run normally reserved for his powerful teammate.

Sanchez's drive in the first inning was estimated at nearly 500 feet, and the New York catcher added another homer in the ninth to lead the Yankees to a 13-4 rout of the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday night. Sanchez's two-run shot in the first was estimated at 493 feet by Statcast.

Bryant exits, Rizzo plays 3B as Cubs win

CINCINNATI (AP) With the Cubs comfortably ahead, Joe Maddon added to his lore as a manager who's not afraid to go against tradition and have some fun, too.

Maddon had left-handed Anthony Rizzo play third base in the ninth inning - filling in while Kris Bryant went for precautionary X-rays on his hand - as Chicago finished off a 13-9 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday night.

Dodgers' Gonzalez has 2,000th hit in win

PITTSBURGH (AP) The Los Angeles Dodgers added two more players to the disabled list Tuesday: 14-game winner Alex Wood and rookie of the year candidate Cody Bellinger.

It didn't seem to slow them down at all.

Royals hold off Rockies, Herrera injured

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) Danny Duffy was not pleased with his bullpen warmup. Once the game started he had no-hit stuff.

Duffy and four relievers combined on a two-hitter, helping the Kansas City Royals hold off the Colorado Rockies 3-2 on Tuesday night.
