Protests delay Hawks-Kings, fans limited

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) On the best night of his rookie season, Sacramento's Justin Jackson had a difficult time keeping his mind off the protests going on outside of Golden1 Center.

He was far from alone in his feelings.

Players from both the Kings and Atlanta Hawks were admittedly distracted by a large group of protesters who were locked arm-in-arm surrounding entrances to the arena before and during the game.

Walker has 46, Hornets rip Memphis by 61

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) Kemba Walker was surprised to learn his Charlotte Hornets had just recorded the sixth-largest win in NBA history.

"That's not something you see every day," Walker said after his 46 points led the Hornets to a 140-79 victory Thursday night over the Memphis Grizzlies. "We played well. We knew these guys were short-handed with no Mike Conley and Marc Gasol, who are two awesome players. But we just handled our business."

Without Paul, Rockets edge Pistons in OT

HOUSTON (AP) James Harden struggled to find his shot for four quarters before the NBA's leading scorer mustered just enough offense in overtime to help the Houston Rockets to another win.

Harden scored 21 points, including 10 of Houston's 12 points in overtime, to lift the Rockets to a 100-96 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Thursday night.

Jazz rebound vs. Mavs for 22nd win in 25

DALLAS (AP) Donovan Mitchell and the Utah Jazz got right back on the winning track.

Mitchell scored 26 points and the Jazz shot 53 percent from the field to beat the Dallas Mavericks 119-112 on Thursday night.

76ers rout Magic for fifth straight win

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) The Philadelphia 76ers keep raising the bar.

"After last night, knowing we were in fourth position, we wanted to come out and send a message and let everybody know we will go for the home court," Joel Embiid said Thursday night after a 118-98 rout of the Orlando Magic.

Davis helps Pelicans rally past Lakers

NEW ORLEANS (AP) A rescheduled game this week that forced the Pelicans to play five times in six nights provided Anthony Davis and New Orleans with what would have been a reasonable excuse for fading against a young Lakers squad that was eager to push the pace after two nights off.

Instead, a determined Davis and seemingly rejuvenated Rajon Rondo spearheaded a riveting rally that has lifted them into fourth place in the Western Conference.

Bucks' Antetokounmpo doubtful for Friday

MILWAUKEE (AP) The Milwaukee Bucks say Giannis Antetokounmpo is doubtful for Friday night's game against the Chicago Bulls with a sprained right ankle.

The All-Star forward got hurt in the second quarter of a 127-120 loss on Wednesday to the Los Angeles Clippers when he appeared to trip over teammate Shabazz Muhammad under the Bucks' basket.

Popovich even keel in unusual season

SAN ANTONIO (AP) Gregg Popovich is not changing how he coaches, not after 22 seasons leading the Spurs.

The NBA's most tenured steward is always going to focus on defense. He's always going to dismiss talk of his brilliance because "it's just basketball." And he's not going to overwork his players even though an unprecedented rash of injuries has the Spurs battling for their playoff lives for the first time in two decades.

Bulls' Blakeney to miss rest of season

CHICAGO (AP) The Chicago Bulls say guard Antonio Blakeney will miss the remainder of the season because of a broken bone in his left wrist.

Blakeney was injured in Monday's loss at New York. He scored six points on 3-for-10 shooting in Wednesday's loss to Denver after being listed as questionable. The Bulls say an MRI on Thursday confirmed the fracture.

Cavs send message with win over Raptors

CLEVELAND (AP) The drama has included turmoil and trades, head-scratching losses, infighting, injuries and illness.

Cleveland's stormy season seems extracted from the script of a scandalous TV soap opera - "All My Cavaliers."
